Aside from his successful business ventures, Würth is known for his passion for art. He began collecting works of art in the 1960s, and his collection now boasts over 18,300 pieces. His collection mainly focuses on art from the late 19th century.

Würth is a married man and has three children. He currently resides in Künzelsau, Germany.

Apart from his business assets, the value of Reinhold Wuerth’s wealth is calculated based on various factors, including insider transactions, taxes, and market performance. But one piece stands out from the rest – his massive art collection. This collection boasts over 15,000 pieces and is worth at least $500 million, according to an insider who asked not to be named due to its private value.

Background

Reinhold Wuerth, a billionaire, resides with his wife Carmen, and they have three children together. In addition to their family, they share a passion for art, with a collection of over 15,000 works. In 2001, they opened the Kunsthalle Wuerth museum to showcase a portion of their collection to the public.

Born in 1935 to Alma and Adolf Wuerth, Reinhold Wuerth’s birthplace was Oehringen, Germany. In July 1945, his parents founded a business that sold screws in Kuenzelsau, Germany. Reinhold Wuerth decided to leave high school at 14 to work for the family business. After his father passed away five years later, Reinhold inherited the company.

Upon taking control of the company in 1954, it had only achieved $100,000 in sales. However, Reinhold Wuerth led the company toward global expansion, and by 1988, the company’s revenue had reached an impressive $1 billion. In 1994, he relinquished his role as CEO and instead assumed the position of chairman of the company’s supervisory board. Wuerth was later named honorary chairman, and in 2006, his daughter Bettina took over his previous board position.

Reinhold Würth’s Fortune

Reinhold Würth’s main source of wealth comes from the Wuerth Group, a private firm that produces screws and building materials. He retains control of the company’s stake through family trusts registered in his three children’s names.

The billionaire’s chairmanship of the supervisory board of Wuerth Group’s family trusts has been credited with his vast fortune. According to its website, the Wuerth Group, which has approximately 400 companies operating in 80 countries, reported total sales of €14.4 billion ($20.2 billion) in 2021.

The company determines its value by examining how similar publicly traded companies like Stanley Black & Decker, Forbo, and Masco are valued. As of June 22, 2022, it was found that the company’s worth had surged by approximately $2 billion.

Reinhold Würth also owns a superyacht named Vibrant Curiosity. It costs $150 million and is 85 meters long. The yacht was designed by an Italian company called Nuvolari Lenard, and it was built by a Dutch company named Oceanco in 2009.
